The Truth About Self Love (It’s Not What You Think)
Self-love isn’t as romantic as you think…
And it’s not as easy breezy, nice-and-flowy as it might seem.
Whenever I pick up a book about self-love, I’m underwhelmed by the same cliches:
“Love yourself.”
“Speak your truth.”
“Do self-care.”
“Teach people how to treat you.”
“Heal your inner child.”

The discipline to set and enforce boundaries, to say daily affirmations, to consistently practice self-care, to do mirror work and navigate through all the emotions it surfaces, to spend quality time with your inner child and to learn how to be a nurturing, loving and powerful inner parent to that child.
All of those things require commitment to and discipline for the inspired daily actions you’ll have to take… and no amount of visualizing, affirming and meditating can compensate for…
